Being married to an animal communicator, I'm frequently exposed to situations where people have just lost a beloved pet or have one that is nearing transition. Marie has the tools to really help and bring closure, and thereby help start the healing process. I admire watching her in action, and love to see her clients finding comfort. Still, nothing brings it home like losing one of your own.
Our beautiful and intelligent Manx tabby, Ms Bun, made the trip over the rainbow bridge earlier today. She enjoyed a full life of 17 years, and was intimately connected with Marie in ways that fostered her work as an animal communicator, psychic and shaman. Her unique and engaging personality makes this loss seem more difficult for some reason.
One thing that does ease the pain is the knowledge that consciousness does not die, it just changes form. Also, there is evidence that when humans interact closely and share love with animals, it helps their soul to expand and become more defined. Abundant accounts of NDEs and life-between-lives hypnotic regression indicates that pets on the other side are accessible and greet us when we arrive. Remember Robin Williams greeting his dog in What Dreams May Come.
In "Destiny of Souls", Hypnotherapist Michael Newton revealed that specialized guides known as "trackers" can retrieve any pet upon request on the other side. Several of his clients painted an exciting picture of being able to recreate any situation or scene from their human lives.
One example:
Dr. N: Kimoye, what do you like to do for recreation?
S: Frankly, I am a rather quiet, unsocial soul and I enjoy doing two things. I garden and play with animals during the time I am away from my group.
Dr. N: Do you actually grow things in the spirit world?
S: Creating living things from energy is one of our important exercises here.
Dr. N: Tell me about playing with the animals.
S: I have a dog and cat as well as a horse. These are my pets from the last life.
Dr. N: Do they just appear when you want them?
S: No, I must call for them as they don’t normally live in our spaces here. I can’t go to their place. An Animal Caretaker brings them to me. We call them trackers.
Dr. N: Meaning the tracker has to find your pet and not one created out of energy, as you might do with a plant in your garden?
S: Absolutely.
Dr. N: Do animals have souls, Kimoye?
S: Yes, of course they do, but in many varieties.
Dr. N: What is the difference between animal and human souls?
S: The souls of all living things have different ... properties. Animal souls have smaller particles of energy ... less volume and are not as complex and multifaceted as the human soul.
Dr. N: What other differences do you know about between the souls of humans and that of animals?
S: The main difference, other than size and capacity, is that animal souls are not ego-driven. They are not overwhelmed by identity issues as we are. They also accept and blend with their environment rather than fighting to control it like human beings. (stops and then adds) We can learn from them.

Other accounts of the afterlife speak of recreating a favorite house and yard out of energy, and some even mention a favorite pet being there as well:
My wife Erika and I loved the small house we built in the Bavarian Alps. We wanted it again after death and so we built it with the help of our energy teacher. He thought it was good practice for us. The model was in my mind and he saw it perfectly before we began the energy transmissions. Additional touches of the exterior came from our friends Hans and Elfie, who lived near our house in Germany and are with us now. The interior furnishings Erika and I did without help. I created my old library and my wife set up her kitchen just as it was. It is wonderful to be alone again with her in this way.

What these accounts tell me is that even though our lives on Earth are finite, the things that are dear to our hearts remain with us for eternity. A beloved pet may bond with us for only a few short years, but the love and experiences we share with them are eternal. Since a soul has natural creative ability, any desired setting can be created again.
After all, is not time simply an illusion? Ascended masters tell us as much. True, we can't travel back in time to relive our favorite scenes - at least while we are still here in the physical. However, love is eternal and transcends time. Our physical existence is little more than a projection on a stage, allowing our souls to enjoy the illusion of being separate individuals as we work on our lessons. Animal souls appear to have a different reason for being here, but I am convinced that loving them helps add to their substance. They love us in return and help teach us about love.
Some adamantly believe that human and animal souls can never mix or transmigrate. I am inclined to believe that anything is possible and that there remains much that we don't understand. Our two dogs Sophie and Bella both speak of having had human incarnations, and both appear to demonstrate intelligence and sophistication beyond a simple animal. We have three other cats besides Bun, and they all seem relatively simple-minded as one would expect. Bun, however, stood out as extremely intelligent and sentient. There appears to be a mystery surrounding this that needs further exploration.
One opportunity for further exploration is Ms Bun's stated intent to return to us through reincarnation. She directed Marie to start looking for Manx cat breeders. She said her body expired before she had completed her work with us, so she wants to arrange a return as soon as possible. We expect that she will provide guidance to Marie when she has picked out a suitable kitten coming into the world.
There are many documented accounts of pet reincarnation occurring. Typically, if an animal communicator is consulted, the departed pet is asked whether they have a desire to return. If they do, guidance is sometimes provided to find the new pet, or happenstance may simply help reunite pet owners with their reincarnated pet. One or more telltale traits will tell them beyond a doubt that their precious fur baby is back.
I am delighted that Ms Bun has elected to try for a quick return. We still have to work through our grief, and the sting of loss is great. But there is hope. So goodbye, my dearest Bun kitty...until we meet again.
